What's inside Shape Burner: a plain-English ingredient guide

Ingredient lists on supplements can read like a chemistry exam. This guide walks through every ingredient on the Shape Burner capsule and gummy labels and explains, in plain English, what each one is. It describes the ingredients; it isn't medical advice, and it doesn't replace a conversation with your healthcare provider.
BHB salts (sodium, calcium and magnesium β-hydroxybutyrate)
Beta-hydroxybutyrate, or BHB, is one of the ketone bodies your liver makes naturally. In supplements it's bound to a mineral, which is why you'll see it listed as sodium, calcium or magnesium BHB. Those minerals also show up on the capsule label as separate lines with their own amounts and % Daily Value.
Where you'll find it: both the capsules and the gummies.
MCT oil
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides, a type of fat most often made from coconut or palm kernel oil. Our gummy label lists the source as coconut oil, which is why the gummies carry a "Contains: coconut" note.
Where you'll find it: both the capsules and the gummies.
L-arginine α-ketoglutarate (AAKG)
AAKG pairs the amino acid L-arginine with alpha-ketoglutarate, a compound that takes part in normal energy metabolism. It's a common ingredient in sports nutrition products.
Where you'll find it: both the capsules and the gummies.
7-keto DHEA
7-keto DHEA (7-keto-dehydroepiandrosterone) is a compound related to DHEA, a hormone the body makes on its own. Because it is hormone-related, talk to your healthcare provider before taking any product that contains it. If you compete in drug-tested sports, check with your sport's governing body: 7-keto DHEA appears on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list.
Where you'll find it: both the capsules and the gummies.
Apple cider vinegar (5% acetic acid)
Apple cider vinegar is made by fermenting apple juice. Acetic acid is the compound that gives vinegar its sour taste, and the 5% figure tells you how concentrated it is. In gummy form you get it without the sharp taste of a spoonful.
Where you'll find it: the gummies only.
Potassium chloride
Potassium chloride is a simple mineral salt that supplies potassium. On the capsule label it appears as "Potassium (as chloride) 26 mg."
The other ingredients
The capsules contain rice flour, magnesium stearate and silica, which help the powder flow and fill the capsule evenly. The gummies are made with pectin (the fruit fiber that gives them their chew), corn syrup, sugar, citric acid, sunflower lecithin, cherry flavor, FD&C Red No. 40 and purified water. A two-gummy serving has 24 calories and 2 g of added sugar.
